PRESIDENT AND CHIEF ACADEMIC OFFICE
The President serves as the University’s chief academic and executive office, with responsibility for the development, implementation, and oversight of the University’s Strategic Plan, including institutional assessment and annual reporting on progress toward strategic goals.
The Office oversees external relations with government entities, regulatory and accrediting bodies, embassies, and donor partners, and acts as the primary administrative liaison to the Board of Trustees. It provides executive leadership for institutional partnerships and advancement; oversees human resources, internal audit, and compliance functions; and directs admissions and enrollment management. The Office further exercises administrative oversight of the Registrar’s Office, the Office of Student Affairs, and the Student Union, and holds responsibility for institutional finance and budget oversight to ensure alignment with the University’s mission, strategic priorities, and fiduciary obligations.

Dr. Al-Qaimari brings extensive international academic and leadership experience. An Australian citizen with academic training in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Australia, he earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Detroit Mercy and his PhD from Heriot-Watt University. He has held senior academic and leadership roles at universities in Australia, including RMIT University and the Australian National University, as well as appointments at leading European institutions, and has collaborated with global industry partners such as IBM, Telstra, and Mercedes-Benz.
