A Bachelor of Science in Accounting at the American University of Malta assists you from the beginning by laying a solid foundation to build upon when studying all of the different facets of accounting. Whether you’re an aspiring number cruncher with a knack for financial organization, a financial strategist who thrives on navigating companies towards growth, or an inquisitive person that inspires you to audit from the inside or investigate externally, we will guide you towards your calling.

Interested in obtaining CPA or ACCA certification? We make sure that you have the foundational necessary to obtain accounting certifications in CEPA and ACCA, should you choose to do so.

At AUM, you’ll immerse yourself into our General Education Program (GEP) and build your major in accounting on top of it. This means that you will graduate a well-rounded student of liberal arts with a sharp focus on accounting, and who’s industry-ready.

Degree Requirements

The BS in Accounting degree is a four-year degree program.

In the first two years, students will focus on completing the university’s General Education Program (42 US / 84 ECTS credits), introducing five thematic areas: communication, data and quantitative literature, scientific inquiry, arts and humanities, and social sciences.

In the third and fourth year, students will focus on topics relevant to their major. In order to earn a bachelor’s degree, students must complete at least 120 US / 240 ECTS credits, fulfill all of the requirements for the Business Administration degree, and achieve a cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher.
